Replacing [at least some of] your lawn with native plants is the green thing to do. Because ~
- Fertilizers and pesticides used on lawns run off into our waterways and pollute our watershed;
- Water is a limited resource – about a third of potable water use in the US is for outdoor landscaping;
- Lawnmowers pollute the air and use fossil fuels; and
- Grass does nothing for wildlife
And now that we’re BayScaped, we realize front yard minus grass equals more space for planting flowers. Win win!
