Replacing [at least some of] your lawn with native plants is the green thing to do.  Because ~

  • Fertilizers and pesticides used on lawns run off into our waterways and pollute our watershed;
  • Water is a limited resource – about a third of potable water use in the US is for outdoor landscaping;
  • Lawnmowers pollute the air and use fossil fuels; and
  • Grass does nothing for wildlife

And now that we’re BayScaped, we realize front yard minus  grass equals more space for planting flowers. Win win!
