No doubt that we live in a time of rapid social and technological change and historic transformation.  Is this another major turning point in our evolution? Geneticist and anthropologist  Spencer Wells might agree.

Pandora’s Seed: The Unforeseen Cost of Civilization describes another major turning point in our history, when our ancestors moved from hunter/gatherers to a more agrarian society.

The decision to control our own food supply, Spencer suggests, set in motion a chain of events that has not only transformed our species at the DNA level, but has transformed human culture, with downsides we are just beginning to recognize.
