A good cure for jet lag is getting outside and working in the garden. So after a whirlwind tour of Europe, First lady Michelle Obama came down to earth and began planting the White House garden.
Along with students from our very own Bancroft Elementary, Mrs. Obama put in seedlings of greens, shallots and onions, herbs and peas.
Assistant White House chef Sam Kass said the lettuces could be ready in the next week or two, along with spinach and herbs.
Home grown greens – good green living and dining at the White House.
