On Saturday we went to the informative  Rooting DC workshop sponsored by a few of  your neighborhood  stores and non-profits.

Presentations on Harvesting Rainwater by Jim Foster (Anacostia Watershed Society)  and on  Extending the Growing Season by Vinnie Bevivin0 (Master Peace Community Farm) were both excellent.

We are inspired to put in a rain barrel, build a cold frame, install a green roof, extend our gardening season and  increase our urban farming footage. And get some cold season vegetable seeds in the ground.

We also picked up some free seed packets and have a few extra. Anyone need mizuna, burgandy bush beans or patty pan squash?
